Wharenui Swimming Club

Welcome to the Wharenui Swim Club in the heart of Christchurch, New Zealand.

The Wharenui Swim Club is one of the premier swim clubs in New Zealand.  Founded in 1911 it is also one of the oldest and largest clubs, with a proud history of swimming successes and innovations. Our team spirit is found throughout all levels of the club, from the "Learn to Swim" programme up to the top squads.

The Club which has turned out both Commonwealth and Olympic champions, has been built on years of tradition and excellence, if you aspire to achieving goals in swimming, the Wharenui Swimming Club, is the place to be.

Qualified and dedicated coaches led by our Head Coach Martin Harris will help you achieve your goals. You can compete locally, nationally or internationally.

At Wharenui we offer Learn to Swim lessons for babies/infants/pre-schoolers, as well as classes for school children (including holiday programmes) and adults.  The pool is also home to the Wharenui Masters where mature swimmers can retain their competitive edge! Wharenui also holds aquacise sessions throughout the week.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Coach to join the team at Wharenui
